Free Genealogy for over 25 years

For nearly 30 years the USGenWeb^® Project has provided free online resources for genealogical research. It has become a network of over 3000 linked websites, all individually created and maintained by a community of volunteer webmasters.

GenWeb.org was Established

Originally the idea was to provide USGenWeb web hosting for sites whose webmasters wanted to use a CMS (content management system) to create their site, and without annoying ads.

Before there was time to announce the plan, OHGenWeb needed to find new hosting in a hurry. But of the 64 sites we currently host only a handful are CMS sites most are HTML.
