Free Genealogy for over 30 years

For 30 years the USGenWeb^® Project has provided free online resources for genealogical research. It has become a network of over 3000 linked websites, all individually created and maintained by a community of volunteer webmasters.

GenWebs.org was Established

Originally the idea was to provide UsGenWeb web hosting for sites whose webmasters wanted to use a CMS (content management system) to create their site, and without annoying ads.

Before there was time to announce the plan, OHGenWeb needed to find new hosting in a hurry. But of the 69 sites we currently host only a handful are database driven CMS sites, most are simple HTML or PHP.

In 2025 we started partnering with Genealogy Societies that were struggling with hosting
